Co-operative publishing

To co-operatively publish with Countershock Press you need to be ready to help at least one other author to produce and publicise their book.   That means that you need to be willing to carefully read a manuscript and to peer review within your expertise and experience.  You will also be willing to write commercially focused reviews for finished works for publication in scientific and popular forums.

We expect you to be open-minded but tough in your standards for judging how an author argues and gets their points across.

You need at least some experience in editing, proof-reading and publishing.  It could be professional or it could be through thesis writing at university or previously published books or even website writing and editing.   It is an advantage to know about Kindle Direct Publishing, Google books, Lulu or any other modern electronic and print just-in-time publishing options.

You pay for the costs of publishing your own book but Countershock Press authors provide their services without any fee except an expectation of similar services from other authors.

You own the copyright to your material but you may use Countershock Press as your publisher once you have produced a book in cooperation with other members of this publishing organisation.

Countershock Press is a voluntary organisation but it does involve committment to each other's projects from the participants.
